It was really something seeing how people reacted to the cross. The majority would turn their eyes from it as they passed. We had some that got angry with us having the cross out there. One "devout" Catholic drunk lady was the worst. She cussed me out and told P.T. and I that the Bible said that we aren't to do what we are doing outside of a night club. I asked her where that was at in the Bible and she said if I had one I would show you. P.T. immediately handed her his. Of course she wasn't able to find it but P.T. showed her Mark 16:15 which says "we are to go into all the world and preach the Gospel". She couldn't find any of the other made up scriptures that she was telling us either. She got very angry when I asked her if she could quote one scripture in the Bible. She argued her "Catholic ways" but when we gave her scripture concerning the things she talked about all she got was more iritated. The guy that was with her was ministered to by Eileen and he wanted to know what he needed to do to get right with Jesus which was awesome!! It is something that most of the attacks come from Catholics that have no idea what the Word of God says. One young man named Louie actually came up to me and said that he was a "devout Catholic" and thanked us for what we were doing", that was a first!! I immediately took him to the Word concerning his foul mouth and drunken state. He totally agreed with me and agreed that he needed to get his life right with Jesus. I wonder with the Catholics if we were to get a blow-up Pope and Maryout there with us if it would be easier to get them to a point of repentance?????
P.T. takes a turn with the Cross.P.T. gets into some heavy duty prayer with this young man that was totally drunk. The demon spirit in this guy kept rising up and trying to talk but it was shut down by the power of prayer. This young man eventually had to "tapout" but we pray that he will get his life together for Jesus.
Deb and Eileen team up ministering to this young man.
From Deb......Mark - He is visiting from New Jersey til Tuesday....When i spoke to him, the Holy Spirit spoke right into his heart. He was convicted about where he was, tears came to his eyes, he put his drink aside and said a prayer to rededicate his life to God. He went to get his sister who was still hanging around the fringes in sin...had a hard time getting her to leave..finally he left with her..amen.
"Behold, i stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice and open the door, i will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me." Revelation 3:20
Deb ministered to this young military man for a long time then they gave him a ride home.
Deb says: Aaron -Friday night on the street i met him. He had been drinking and was pretty inebriated. We were leaning against the concrete fence at Razzles and soon i find out he is on leave from the Marines, he's been in 2 years and will be going to Iraq on Tuesday....As i minister to him he agrees with me BUT in his alcoholic haze he blames the Marines and his family for what he does... We drove him home and Pastor Troy ministered to Him, but his story remained the same... Knows of Jesus but does not know him.
"The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might, they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf." Micah 7:16
P.T. shows this man what the Word of God says about the way he is living his life.
Eileen ministered to these two young men from a foreign country. They told her what "their religion" teaches and Eileen took them to the Bible and what Jesus expects out of their lives. They were very open and observant with Eileen's teaching of the Word.
Eileen said: the two young men from Lebanon I ministered to last night were a true blessing. Their religion "Druze" is a combination between Christianity and Muslim, per their report. They believe in God, Jesus the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. Although they have never felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. Sam, right of me, was very eager and receptive to the word given. He mentioned it is against their religion to have a bible, as that is only for the one in authority in their church. He agreed that it is his responsibility to seek out the truth for himself. We spoke for quite a while and I invited them to church on Sunday. Sam seemed intent on coming, but his friend, I forgot his name, whom Sam is visiting said they may be leaving for Orlando in the AM and not returning until Tues. Sam is from Calif and visiting his friend, who by the way is a pilot ready to get his license. Both will be returning to Lebanon for a brief period of time. Then Sam plans to reside in Egypt after he completes his studies in Calif. I pray that both will come Sunday and that the word spoken penetrates in their souls.
P.T. ministers to this young man who walked by near closing time.
Eileen and I hit another neighborhood on the way home (around 4:00 a.m.) and found drug dealers and prostitutes on the street. We stopped and said to them "we don't know what you are up to but warned them that Jesus knew everything that they were doing and that they would have to stand before Him one day. We told them that it was time that they get their lives right with Jesus. We will make this neighborhood a regular stop on the way home from now on.
Anyone in the area that would like to join us on the streets tomorrow night (actually tonight) give me a call (386) 492-7826 or Pastor Troy @ (504) 202-0939.
We will have some personal updates this weekend describing what took place with some of the people in the pictures above.
